This lesson was written on July 9, 2024 using psp12.

If you are using a different version of PSP, the settings and filter effects may have a different effect. Play around with the settings until you get the result you want.

 

This lesson was conceived and written by me. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

I use a color scheme in my lessons. I list the colors by noting the color number in the color box in the color scheme.

Preparation
Place the selection files in the selection folder of your Psp files

Open the tubes and the color scheme in your psp. Minimize them, except for the color scheme.

 

1.

File: Open a new image of 800x500 pixels, color black

Layers/ New raster layer

Selections / Select All

 

2.

Open the tube Snake Lady mpd©

The top layer in your layer palette, is activated

Edit-Copy and return to your 800 image

 

3.

Edit/Paste into selection

Selections- Select None

 

4.

Adjust/Blur/Radial Blur with these settings

5.

Layers/Duplicate

 

Effects / Plugins/Filters/ unnlimited 2.0 / FunHouse – Vibes

Set only the top slider to 50

the rest stays at 0

 

6.

Effects / Plugins/Filters/ unlimited 2.0 / Toadies / Blast 'em, using the default settings

( 20 / 211 )

 

Effects / Plugins/ Graphic plus – Emboss,

Set all of the sliders to 0

 

7.

Layers-Properties-Set the Blend Mode to "Overlay"

Layers/Merge/Merge Visible

 

8.

Put your foreground on color no. 1 and your background on color number 2

 

Select Selection Tool-Custom Selection(S)-Rectangle with these settings:

Top at 0

Left side at 50

Bottom at 500

Right side at 150

 

9.

Layers / New raster layer

Flood Fill Tool/Fill selection with foreground

Select / Modify / Contract by 2

and press delete once

 

10.

Layers / New Raster Layer

and floodfill the selection with your background

Effects/ Plugins/ Graphic plus – Cross shadow, using the default settings

 

11.

Selections / modify / contract by 2

and press the delete key once

Set your foreground to white

 

12.

 

Layers / New Raster Layer

Take your flood fill tool and set the opacity to 50%

Fill the selection with white

 

13.

Effects / Plugins/ AAA Frames – Foto frame

Set only the top slider to 20.

and leave the rest as is.

Selections/Select none

 

14,

Layers / Merge / Merge down

Repeat this one more time.

Effects / Plugins/ MuRa's Meister – Copies use the settings below

15.

Set your foreground back to color number. 1

Background is color number.2

 

16.

Select Selection Tool-Custom Selection(S)-Rectangle with these settings:

Top at 50

Left side at 0

Bottom at 150

Right side at 800

 

17.

Layers / New raster layer

Take your flood fill tool and set the opacity back to 100%

Fill the selection with your foreground

 

18.

Selections / modify / contract by 2

and press the delete key once

 

19.

Layers / New raster layer

Fill the selection with your background

Effects / Plugins / Graphic plus - Cross shadow, using the default settings

 

20.

Selections / modify / contract by 2

and press the delete key once

 

21.

Set your foreground to white

Layers / New raster layer

 

22.

Take your flood fill tool and set the opacity to 50%

Fill the selection with your foreground

 

23.

Effects / Plugins / AAA Frames - Picture Frame

set only the upper slider to 13

the rest remains as it is

Selections/Select none

Layers / Merge / Merge down

Repeat 1x

Layers / duplicate

Image/Mirror/Mirror vertical(Image/Flip in older versions of PSP)

Layers / Duplicate

Lock this layer in the layer palette

by clicking on the eye

Activate the layer underneath (copy of Raster 2)

Selections –load/save selection –load selection from disc and select my selection:

Now press your delete key once

Selections/Select none

Effects / 3D- Effects / Drop Shadow

V&H at 1

Opacity 65

Blur 1.00

Color is your background (Color number.2)

Set your foreground to color number. 1

In your layer palette, activate the layer below ( Raster 2)

Selections –load/save selection –load selection from disc and select my selection:

Now press your delete key once

Selections/Select none

 

Effects / 3D- Effects / Drop shadow

V&H at 1

Opacity 65

Blur 1.00

Color is your foreground ( color number 1)

Activate in the layer palette the upper layer (copy (2) of raster 2)

Unlock it by clicking on the eye again

Effects / Distortion Effects / Wave use the settings below

Effects / Image Effects / Offset

Horizontal offset at 0

Vertical offset at 150

Custom and Transparent checked

Selections –load/save selection –load selection from disc and select my selection:

Now press your delete key once

Selections/Select none

In your layer palette, activate Raster 2

(the 2nd layer from the bottom)

Layers Properties /Set the blend mode of this layer to "Overlay"

Duplicate the window by simultaneously pressing Shift+D

on this layer:

Layers / Merge / Merge all layers

Effects / Plugins /Filters/ unlimited 2.0 / VM Instant Art – Tripolis

Effects / Edge Effects /Enhance

Set this image aside for a moment **

 

Return to your original 800 image

 

39.

Activate the top layer in your layer palette.

Set your foreground to color number. 3

and your background to color number. 4

Selections –load/save selection –load selection from disc and select my selection:

Layers / New raster layer

Take your flood fill tool, the opacity is still at 50%

Fill the selection with your background

Effects / Plugins / Graphic plus - Cross shadow, using the default settings

Selections / modify / contract by 5

the opacity of your flood fill tool is still at 50%

and fill the selection with your foreground

Selections / Modify / Contract by 5

and press the delete key once

Layers / New raster layer

Take your image** that we set aside in step 38

Edit / Copy and return to your 800 image

Edit / Paste into selection

Effects / Edge Effects /Enhance

In your layer palette activate the layer below ( raster 3)

Effects / Edge Effects /Enhance

Selections/Select none

Opacity 85

Blur 2.00 black

Select the top layer in your layer palette

Layers / Merge / Merge Down

Edit / Copy and back to your 800 image

Edit / Paste as a new layer

Set your foreground to color number.5

Layers / Merge / Merge all layers

Image / Add borders;

1 pixel foreground (color number 5)

5 pixels black

1 pixel foreground

40 pixels black

1 pixel foreground

Image / Resize 800 pixels width

Resize all layers checked

Activate tube Snake Lady mpd©

The top layer is activated

Edit / Copy and back to your image 800

Edit / Paste as a new layer

Image / Resize with 85%,

Resize all layers unchecked

Repeat this one more time.

Effects / Image Effects / Offset

Horizontal offset at 135

Vertical offset at 0

Custom and Transparent checked

Activate tube L592 Text from mpd©.

Edit / Paste as new layer

Give the text a nice place where you like it

Layers / New raster layer

and place your name / watermark on it

 

!! Don't forget my watermark!

 

Layers / Merge / Merge all layers

 

Save your work as a jpg file
